Puhoi Vision & Action’s Riverside Planting Day is a celebration of new beginnings, bringing people and place together to build resilience for the future.
Following the removal of invasive arundo grass, a once-neglected riverside is being transformed into a space the community can be proud of, restoring natural beauty and creating a welcoming entrance for all who live in and visit Puhoi.
In the spirit of Matariki, the event is a chance for the community to get hands-on with planting and embody kaitiakitanga - caring for our whenua and waterways. Beyond planting, it’s a moment of connection, renewal and shared purpose.
