Ark in the Park is a partnership between Forest & Bird and Auckland Council, supported by Te Kawerau ā Maki.  Its aims to create an open sanctuary in the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park and return many of the species.

Auckland is better on a bike! We're a friendly community of road and mountain biking enthusiasts and we put on loads of great riding events from easy to expert. We have a lot of fun so check out upcoming meetups and get signed up!  

Our role is like that of a weaver or quilter – threading and interworking a strong lattice of partnership and connection alongside and between Government agencies, local council Boards, iwi, community groups, tertiary education, businesses and schools – building a stronger present and future, together.

At Pacific Vision Aotearoa, we believe that by anchoring to fonua, faith and the cultural wisdom of our ancestors everyone has the navigational wayfinding skills for health and wellbeing. We are weavers, we are navigators, we are kaitiaki!

Papatūānuku Kōkiri Marae located in Mangare in South Auckland is a traditional marae practicing hua parakore to strengthen our community with food, culture, and interconnectivity. At the marae we welcome guests from all over the world through WWOOFing and other volunteer programs. We host cultural events, language and mindful classes, and much more.

We educate and advocate from a Māori worldview for zero carbon, zero waste whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori Māori. Para Kore supports resilience within Māori communities through mātauranga Māori behaviour change programmes and services.

We work with communities and partner organisations to restore and protect native habitats in the Kaipātiki area of the North Shore. Through restoration projects, education, and support for more than 70 local volunteer groups, we help care for backyards, parks, reserves and shared green spaces.

Repair Cafes are events where you can bring broken or damaged items and locals volunteer their time and expertise to fix them for you for no charge. The idea is to encourage the concept of Repair-Renew-Reuse.

The centre also has a makerspace run by Ann Langis called Noughty Wasters. Noughty Wasters is a creative upcycling initiative that: 

• provides zero-waste education
• helps change how we think of waste. 

STEPS works with the community to protect and restore the Waitītiko Meola Creek ecosystem. Join native planting days, restoration projects and community initiatives that help improve water quality, enhance biodiversity and care for one of Auckland's largest urban stream catchments.

Sustainable Coastlines brings people together to reduce plastic pollution and other litter to protect the moana we all love. We operate nationwide, inspiring change through beach clean-ups, education, and litter data collection.

Sustainable Papakura helps people reduce waste and live more sustainably through workshops, repair cafés, community projects and volunteering. Visit the Base, their eco resource centre to learn new skills, recycle hard to process items and connect with others taking action for the environment.

We are a charitable trust working in Tāmaki - Maungakiekie. Educating our community on ways to reduce waste, we support groups and organisations towards a waste reduction kaupapa.

Social Enterprise promoting Upcycling either through purchasing products pre-made, custom-made or by learning to do it yourself (DIY) through workshops. A diverse and talented group of upcycling artisans promoting creativity, mindful making and sustainability. Various upcycling workshops on offer for children, adults and corporates, as well as an online store.

ME Family Services works alongside the Māngere Ōtāhuhu community to restore local ecosystems and build stronger connections with te taiao. Get involved in community gardening, stream restoration, pest control, waste reduction and environmental learning for all ages.

The Village Square Trust creates places for people to meet, learn, create and grow. Join sustainable living workshops, community events and practical activities that help build stronger, more connected and resilient communities.
