Kids Learn to Ride

Learning to ride a bike is one of those big childhood milestones, and being part of that experience as a parent or caregiver is a thrill. Whether they're starting on a balance bike or making the transition to pedals, Auckland Transport's Kids Learn to Ride sessions teach children aged 2–13 how to ride.

Sessions run right across Auckland from 1 October 2026 to 29 May 2027, in suburbs including Albany, Royal Oak, Avondale, Beachlands, Oratia, Henderson, Takapuna, Mount Eden, Hobsonville and Waitakere Ranges. 

Each session is:

• Free
• Drop-in (registration optional)
• Led by highly qualifies instructors
• A great way to build confidence and skills

Sessions are weather dependent, so keep an eye out for updates closer to the date. Once you're there, look for the Auckland Transport flags to find your session.
