About this event
Explore simple, sustainable ways to grow fresh mushrooms at home and in shared community spaces. This practical session focuses on Stropharia rugoso-annulata – commonly known as the Wine Cap or King Stropharia – one of the easiest and most rewarding varieties to establish in garden wood chip mulch.
The workshop begins with an introduction to home cultivation basics, site selection and a live demonstration of how to build an outdoor mushroom bed. Afterwards, participants will cook and taste Wine Cap mushrooms together, ask questions and discuss regenerative gardening practices.
Mushroom spawn pre-orders
Mushroom spawn can be pre-ordered for $30 per 1kg bag to take home. Let the garden team know if you would like to purchase spawn when emailing your registration.
