About this event

Join facilitator Sarah Williams at Sunnynook Community Centre for a practical Love Food Hate Waste workshop focused on growing your own microgreens and sprouts year-round.

You will explore the full growing process from seed to harvest, discovering how easy and cost-effective it is to cultivate nutrient-rich greens on a windowsill while cutting down on plastic packaging and food waste. Each participant will plant their own tray of microgreens to take home.

Dips, dressings and smart storage

During the session, you will get hands-on making tasty dips and dressings using freshly harvested microgreens alongside common ingredients often forgotten at the back of the fridge. The workshop also covers everyday storage techniques to help fresh produce last longer and keep good food out of the bin.

Compost system discount

Participants who attend receive an emailed voucher for 50% off a compost system ordered online, with direct delivery to your door and the option to add a free rat trap. Delivered by Compost Collective with support from Auckland Council and Sunnynook Community Centre.
