Formerly known as IDOP Albert-Eden, Golden Festival is an age-friendly celebration of older people across the Albert-Eden Local Board area.

From 1 to 18 October 2026, community groups are hosting a huge range of free events, many bringing generations together through shared activities like weaving, art, music and storytelling, all celebrating the connection, culture and contribution of older Aucklanders.

Highlights include the Grandparents Day Party at Mt Albert Library, Treasured Together, an intergenerational art project pairing older adults with local schoolkids, Springtime in the Square at Pt Chevalier, and the Golden Years Festival, a full day of live performances and workshops at Mt Albert War Memorial Hall.
