Biochar & Food Forest Wānanga
Triangle Park Community Teaching Garden
Triangle Park Community Teaching Garden warmly invites you to join them for a morning of reflection, wānanga and learning as they prepare biochar to add to their new food forest.
Often called black gold for the garden, biochar improves soil health, increases water retention, and supports thriving, resilient ecosystems. Come along to discover how to make it yourself and see how it's being used in the community food forest.
What's happening
- 10.00am – Herbal teas from the garden, with seeds and cuttings to share.
- 10.30am – Robert introduces the wonders of biochar and demonstrates how to make it at home.
- A guided walk through the establishing community food forest.
- 12.30pm – Shared lunch together.
